still Drupal, so...)))
2 points that have arisen when working with Drupal:
1. one of the programmers told us that Drupal is heavy, not designed for our expected volume of customer interaction (1000chel/d). another said that this argument is valid, but the problem is solved, there are ways to get around. question: how difficult is justified to implement a project on Drupal or is it easier the task to implement another cms?
2. the beginning of the site written by the same counter on Drupal. written crooked - modules Drupal is not used in connection with the incompetence of the developer, used samopisny. question: if we find another programmer, you really made crooked, to an existing part to implement new code?

1000 users a day is a bit. Cache put will live.

Write again from the beginning. Use ready-made modules.

Or on Drupal to write, or on some framework (for example, yii2), then this rewrite this landing page. Of course there will be: php, yii2 framework, mysql, html, css, bootstrap.

Landing written on Drupal.

It's cool. On Drupal you can do tests to organize. Look for a contractor.

We also recommend to pay attention to moodle cms for educational sites. Probably all the functions you need are already there out of the box.
If you really want, is the integration of drupal and moodle: https://www.drupal.org/project/moodle_connector
